A portrait of hip hop artist and actor Q-Tip, of the ground-breaking group A Tribe Called Quest. A Tribe Called Quest is well known for infusing jazz samples in their music, giving them a distinct sound and style among their peers.
This was done in acrylic paint on an 18" x 24" canvas board, with cool colours used for this piece, dark blues and purples and greys. The reference for this painting is a photograph from the booklet for his album, The Renaissance.
This piece is framed and ready for hanging. The frame is simple and black. The detail of the frame is shown in the photograph.
